Dr.Attila Lengyel Law Firm
was established in Budapest in 2007 following the separation of the energy law team from a large national law firm. The firm focuses on energy law, commercial law and corporate law.
Energy Law
Energy law is the firm’s key focus area. It represents major trading and distribution companies in the natural gas sector, provides legal advice regarding contractual, licensing and pricing issues, and advises on regulatory projects in the natural gas sector on behalf of the key market players.
The firm is one of the first in Hungary to be active in the field of renewable energy.
The Hungarian Regulator recently instructed Dr. Attila Lengyel to handle the legal due diligence of the licence and grid access process in the course of the establishment of RES units. The firm assists investors in energy and biomass and has settled contractual, licensing and feed-in tariff issues.
The firm has been a member of the Hungarian Biogas Association and the Hungarian Wind Energy Association since early 2009. Leading partner Dr. Attila Lengyel was appointed as a Member of the Board of the Hungarian
Biogas Association in April 2010 and will represent the interests of the biogas sector for the next 3 years. Dr. Attila Lengyel is also involved in teaching and
launched a new Energy Law subject at the University of Miskolc in 2008.
Commercial Law
Dr. Attila Lengyel represents a number of clients in the building industry, logistics, mobile entertainment, media and chemicals. It provides clients with full scale service including drafting contracts, providing legal advice and representing them in the court process.
Corporate Law
Foreign inward investors regularly instruct the firm to assist them in the establishment of operations in Hungary. The firm incorporates companies on a bespoke basis and deals with mergers and acquisitions.
