Değer is the founding partner of Boden Law. She has significant experience in energy, infrastructure and arbitration matters. She is listed in Legal 500, Chambers & Partners and Who’s Who Legal as leading individual for her energy and natural resources’ practices.

She has extensive experience working on project development and finance transactions in the areas of energy, ports, metals & mining and general infrastructure. Değer has a very unique energy practice in Turkey; she has been involved in many different aspects of the Turkish energy sector. Her expertise in the sector embraces commodity trade transactions, mergers and acquisitions including asset and stock acquisitions, project finance transactions, turn-key EPC contracts. She assists clients in avoiding or resolving disputes and regulatory issues (including energy regulations) through negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation. Her experience embraces international commercial and investment treaty arbitration. She was a member of the team in representation of the Republic of Turkey in the first ICSID arbitration case pursued against the Republic of Turkey. She also acts as an arbitrator in disputes arising from energy contracts.

Değer has been playing an active role in the development of Turkish electricity trade market: she has represented EFET in adopting their master trade agreement into the Turkish market; represented the Turkish Energy Traders Association, working closely with them in development of the new market design. She has been involved in many complex projects in the energy sector. These projects involved complex structuring ranging from EPC contracts, long term supply agreements to technology transfer agreements. She publishes, teaches and speaks extensively on arbitration and energy matters.

She lectures “Energy Project Management and Law” course at the Energy Systems Engineering Department of Kadir Has University. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Energy and Sustainable Development (CESD) of Kadir Has University. She is also a Board member in the Carbon Footprint and Sustainability Association.She is the Co-Head of the Energy Commission of Istanbul Arbitration Center (ISTAC).
