Søren Hornbæk Svendsen has more than 15 years’ experience working as an adviser in and to
companies in the Energy Sector. Søren has special expertise assisting on the sale and purchase of
companies, wind farms, oil and gas licenses and other assets in the energy sector. Søren Hornbæk
Svendsen also has extensive experience negotiating and drafting energy sector contracts and
handling regulatory matters in the energy sector.
Søren has experience from and understands the challenges of both sides of the table – from his

Horten represents one of the largest and most experienced energy law teams in Denmark, consisting of 10 partners and 15 lawyers covering all areas of the energy value chain. Horten is involved in most wind power projects in Denmark; among these all recent offshore projects tendered by the Danish state and a number of onshore wind farm projects in Denmark. Horten advises some of the largest players in the Danish North Sea on upstream oil and gas contracts, transactions, disputes and regulatory matters. Horten further assists a number of the new players, that arrived to the Danish North Sea in connection with the recent seventh licensing round. Furthermore, Horten continues to advise 80% + of all utilities in Denmark and a number of private and public entities in PPP Projects (Private Public Partnerships).

Horten assists Danish Gas-­‐TSO Energinet in all legal aspects concerning the planned Baltic Pipe gas pipeline from Norway, across the North Sea, crossing Denmark and across the Baltic Sea to Poland. Horten advises NGF Nature Energy on the sale of all biogas and natural gas activities as well as all gas pipelines. Horten advises HOFOR Vind on a number of onshore wind farm projects -­‐ in respect of purchase or development of projects, purchase of turbines, regulatory, planning, etc. Horten lead all legal aspects of Centrica plc’s acquisition of NEAS Energy A/S Horten advised GE on its acquisition of LM Wind Power. Horten advised Global Wind Power Europe on its sale of 51% of its French wind business to Fred. Olsen Renewables. Horten advised HOFOR Vind on their bid for the two latest offshore wind farms in Denmark (600 MW Kriegers Flak and 350 MW Nearshore).
